Library Cards

Any resident of the Genesee District Library’s service area may obtain a Genesee District Library Card.

New cards may be acquired by visiting any of our 19 locations and filling out a Patron Registration Form (or by performing self-registration online by clicking here). A valid photo ID with your current address is required. People under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature. Cards last for three years, then require renewal by providing up-to-date ID. If you have lost your card, there is a $2 replacement fee.

City of Flint residents and residents of any Mideastern Michigan Library Cooperative (MMLC) service area may also may also have a free GDL card to check out physical items and use computers. Additionally, they have the option of paying for digital services for $10/month or $100/year.

Anyone outside GDL’s service area may purchase a non-resident card. Non-resident cards permit the holder to use all GDL materials and services with the exception of MeLCat. A non-resident card may be purchased for $10/month or $100/year.
