Academic Search Complete allows you to search for articles from scholarly journals, with options for full-text and peer-reviewed articles.

Access World News provides you with current and historical newspapers from across the country, including issues of the Flint Journal and the Detroit News.

Ancestry lets you search and find historical records that can be used to build a family tree or assist in genealogy research. Note: Ancestry can only be used in one of the Genesee District Library branches.

AtoZ Databases allows you to find information on businesses and people, find jobs, and generate sales leads and mailing lists.

AtoZ Food America lets you find recipes from across the U.S. There are recipes from all 50 states for every meal of the day. Recipes give you ingredients, cook times, and instructions in a compact, printable format.

AtoZ World Food lets you find recipes from around the world. There are recipes from 140 countries for every meal of the day. Recipes give you ingredients, cook times, and instructions in a compact, printable format.

Auto Repair Source allows you to enter your vehicle year, make and model to get maintenance schedules, wiring diagrams, diagnostic trouble codes, and more information on how to repair your vehicle.

Biography Reference Source allows you to search over 450,000 biographies, with a collection of articles, eBooks, and selections from reference materials. Full text and peer-reviewed material available.

Black Life in America is a collection of news stories that provides you with information about the experience and impact of African Americans in America. The collection comes from 19,000 news sources and covers the early 18th century to present day.

Booklist Online grants you access to current and back issues of Booklist Reader magazine, which is filled with book recommendations and reviews for readers of all ages. Discover your next read here.

BookPage provides you with book recommendations, highlighting new books across a wide range of genres. These include: Fiction, Nonfiction, Mystery, Romance, Children’s, YA, and more.

Career Cruising offers several tools to prepare you for your future career. These include an interest assessment, information on career earnings and job requirements, and a guide for writing a resume and cover letter.

The Learning Express Library allows you to prepare for a future career with tools to learn more about a career, develop workplace skills, and practice tests for certification and licensing exams.

College Admissions Test Preparation
The Learning Express Library allows you to prepare for college admissions tests, including the SAT, ACT, and PSAT. Resources include eBooks, practice tests, and more.

Consumer Health Complete is designed to help you gain an overall understanding of key topics across the health and wellness spectrum – from mainstream medicine to complementary, holistic, and integrated medicine.

Consumer Reports provides you with unbiased ratings and reviews for a wide array of products, including electronics, appliances, and cars. Buying guides are also available for those wondering what to look for in a product.

Consumer Reports – Magazine Articles
Consumer Reports – Magazine Articles contains all the articles published in the physical edition of Consumer Reports. Articles are sorted by year, then issue.

DigitalLearn helps you learn the basics of using a computer with short tutorials covering topics such as: Navigating a Website, Intro to Email, QR Code Basics, and more.

Driving Tests offers you a number of free written driving tests to help you prepare for the MI DOS Exam. Topics include complex situations, road signs, and more. A guide is included to explain any incorrect answers.

FamilySearch allows you to create your own family tree and lets you search historical documents to help put it together.

Fantastic Fiction lets you look up an author and find all their books, sorted by series and by release date. You can also find any upcoming releases.

The Flint Journal Archives lets you browse issues of the Flint Journal from 1898 to today. Clip, download, and print articles for later use.

Foundation Directory Online helps you find grants and other sources of funding for your organization. Note: Foundation Directory can only be used in one of the Genesee District Library branches.

Gale eBooks is a collection of primarily non-fiction ebooks that allows you to search a variety of subjects, including history, law, education, religion, and more.

Guidestar lets you search for information about nonprofit organizations. Find their mission statement, principal officer, financials, and more. Note: Guidestar can only be used in one of the Genesee District Library branches.

Health Source provides a collection of consumer health information from health magazines and reference materials for you to search. Subjects include: fitness, nutrition, aging, and more.

HeritageHub lets you search the NewsBank database of newspapers for obituaries, death notices, and news articles. All you need is the person’s name and year of death.

High School Equivalency Center
The Learning Express Library allows you to build skills in reading, writing, and math, and prepare for the GED test. Lessons, eBooks, and practice tests are available.

The History Reference Source allows you to search a database of magazines, academic journals, books, and primary source documents for historical information. Includes peer-reviewed material.

The Hobbies and Crafts Source lets you search for information and eBooks on several different types of hobbies and crafts, such as gardening, performing arts, sewing, crochet, and more.

The Home Improvement Source offers you information on home maintenance, remodeling, electrical work, plumbing, outdoor improvements, and more. Find information on house upkeep, repair, and renovations.

Key Business Ratios allows you to search industry benchmarks, featuring 14 key business ratios. These include solvency ratios, efficiency ratios, and profitability ratios.

The Learning Express Library offers you a collection of lessons and practice tests for college entrance exams, the GED test, the citizenship exam, and career certification tests. Many resources also available in Spanish.

The Legal Information Source allows you to search for legal information and documents covering topics such as family affairs, divorce, immigration, patents, and real estate. Nolo legal guides also available.

The Literary Reference Source allows you to to search for book synopses, essays, reviews, author biographies and full-text classic novels, short stories, and poems.

Mango Language lets you learn a new language following a lesson plan that includes vocabulary checks and practice tests. Courses available for 70 languages.

MedlinePlus is an online health information resource that allows you to search for information on conditions, medications, tests, and more. It is a service of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the world’s largest medical library.

Mergent Archives contains a collection of Corporate and Municipal manuals dating back to the early 1900s. You can access corporate history, business information, and financial information.

Mergent Intellect allows you to access information on local, national, and global businesses. Contact information and biographies on business executives are also available.

The Michigan Activity Pass lets you use your library card to access discounts to cultural destinations, parks, and campgrounds across the state. Just put in your dates and destination to get a list of available passes.

Michigan Authors & Illustrators
Michigan Authors & Illustrators allows you to find Michigan authors of all genres, and lets you know if they are available for workshops and presentations.

The Michigan Electronic Library (MeL) lets you request physical materials from libraries across the state, and access eBooks and databases made available by the Library of Michigan.

Michigan Medicine Care Guides contain videos, websites, and handouts approved by Michigan Medicine clinicians. You can browse by topic or by medical service.

Morningstar Investment Research Center
Morningstar Investment Research Center allows you to browse investment data, screen for securities, read analyst reports, compare securities, and more. A powerful tool for new and experienced investors.

MyHeritage lets you search for a person by name, year of birth and location, and pulls up historical records for genealogical research.

The Poetry and Short Story Reference Center allows you to search for and read full text short stories and poems, provides detailed information on their authors, and has a database of various poetry techniques to help you write your own.
