  • Hello Song (using ASL):  Hello Friends

    Hello friends,
    Hello friends,
    Hello friends,
    It’s time to say hello.

    Library Letter:

    Hi Miss Marissa,

“Do you like trains? Fun fact: The Gaines Station Library used to be a train depot and has a lot of cool pictures inside of what the building looked like before it was a library. Also, the Gaines Station  Library is the smallest branch in the Genesee District Library system. Come check it out!”

    Love, Ryan

Library Field Trip: Gaines Station Branch

We visited the Gaines Station Branch. We pretended to be trains outside of the old train depot then went inside and read a train story.

Song: This is a Choo-Choo Train

    This is a choo-choo train,
    Puffing down the track.
    Now it’s going forward,
    Now it’s going back
    Now the bell is ringing,
    Now the whistle blows.
What a lot of noise it makes,
    Everywhere it goes!

Book: Train Ride Fun by Maggie Testa

    Felt Song: This Old Train

    This engine, it is black,
It goes chugging down the track (make chugging motion)
With a chug-chug, toot-toot (pretend to pull train whistle)
    Hear the whistle blow
This old train goes chugging home.

See this car, it is white,
It goes chugging out of sight. (make chugging motion)
With a chug-chug, toot-toot (pretend to pull train whistle)
    Hear the whistle blow
This old train goes chugging home.

See this car, it is green,
It goes chugging full of steam. (make chugging motion)
With a chug-chug, toot-toot (pretend to pull train whistle)
    Hear the whistle blow
This old train goes chugging home.

See this car, it is blue,
It goes chugging right by you. (make chugging motion)
With a chug-chug, toot-toot (pretend to pull train whistle)
    Hear the whistle blow
This old train goes chugging home.

See this car, it is pink,
It chugs by quick as a wink. (make chugging motion)
With a chug-chug, toot-toot (pretend to pull train whistle)
    Hear the whistle blow
This old train goes chugging home.

    This caboose, it is red,
It goes chugging off to bed. (make chugging motion)
With a chug-chug, toot-toot (pretend to pull train whistle)
    Hear the whistle blow
This old train goes chugging home.

    Mystery Box:

Today we had scarves in the mystery box.

Scarf Song: This is the Way We Stir the Paint

There’s a little red train going down the track
Look at the wheels go clickety clack
And the train wheels are rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling
And the train wheels are rolling, rolling right along.

There’s an engine in the front and a caboose in the back
Look at those wheels go clickety clack
And the train wheels are rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling
And the train wheels are rolling, rolling right along.

The little train goes to the top of the hill,
It goes very slow but it gets there still
It gets to the top and it goes back down
Look at the wheels go around and around
And the train wheels are rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling
And the train wheels are rolling, rolling right along.

    Goodbye song: Goodbye friends

    Goodbye friends,
    Goodbye friends,
    Goodbye friends,
    It’s time to say goodbye.
