Hello Song (using ASL): Hello Friends
Hello friends,
Hello friends,
Hello friends,
It’s time to say hello.
Library Letter:
“Hi Miss Marissa, Here at the William F. Delaney Headquarters Branch we have a cute garden area. I like to spend my lunch breaks out there some times reading or eating. From, Nick”
Library Field Trip: William F. Delaney Headquarters Branch
We visited the William F. Delaney Headquarters Branch. There we toured the gardens and played a felt board game with Wiggle Worm. Wiggle Worm was hiding behind one of the books and we had to find him by saying this rhyme:
“Wiggle Worm, Wiggle Worm hiding in a book
Wiggle Worm, Wiggle Worm where should we look?”
Book: Thank You, Garden by Liz Garton Scanlon
Puppet Game: There’s Something in My Garden
There’s something in my garden,
Now, what can it be?
There’s something in my garden,
That I can’t really see.
[insert animal noise]
It’s a [animal]!
Mystery Box:
Today we had a peapod and shakers in the mystery box.
Fingerplay: Five Plump Peas
Five plump peas in a pea pod pressed
One grew, two grew, and so did all the rest
They grew and they grew and they did not stop
Until one day the pod went POP!
Shaker Song: Look in the Garden
(Tune: Baby Put Your Pants On)
Look in the garden there are seeds
Growing up and growing down
Look in the garden there are seeds
Growing up and growing down
Look at the peas
Look at the squash
Look at the tomatoes
Shake, shake, shake
Look at the sunflowers
Look at the beans
Look at the watermelon
Shake, shake, shake
Look in the garden there are seeds
Growing up and growing down
Look in the garden there are seeds
Growing up and growing down
Look at the peas
Look at the squash
Look at the tomatoes
Shake, shake, shake
Look at the sunflowers
Look at the beans
Look at the watermelon
Shake, shake, shake
Repeat by replacing the fruits and vegetables with other things you might find in a garden.
Goodbye song: Goodbye friends
Goodbye friends,
Goodbye friends,
Goodbye friends,
It’s time to say goodbye.
