Hello Song (using ASL): Hello Friends
Hello friends,
Hello friends,
Hello friends,
It’s time to say hello.
Library Letter:
Mr. Wiggle wrote to ask me to share the story of his friendship with Mr. Waggle. They were celebrating their friendship anniversary and wanted to celebrate with you and your story time friends!
One day there were two friends.
Mr. Wiggle (shake right fisted thumb) and Mr. Waggle (shake left fisted thumb) and they lived in identical houses!
So Mr. Wiggle went into his house like this:
He opened the door (rotate wrist into flat palm)
He went inside (tuck thumb into palm)
And he closed the door after himself (close fist)
And wouldn’t you know it?
Mr. Waggle went into his house the exact same way!
He opened the door (rotate wrist into flat palm)
He went inside (tuck thumb into palm)
And he closed the door after himself (close fist)
One day, Mr. Wiggle wanted to visit Mr. Waggle so…
He opened the door (rotate closed fist into flat palm)
He went outside (untuck thumb from palm)
And he closed the door after himself (close fist but leave thumb out)
And then he went up the hill and down the hill, up the hill
and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill
until he reached Mr. Waggle’s door. (move fisted thumb up and down)
He knocked on the door. (pretend to knock on other fist)
There was no answer, so he said, “Ohhhh Mr. Waaaaggle! Are you home?” (pretend to talk with thumb)
But there was still no answer. (shake head)
Sigh, so he went up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill
until he got to his home where he (move fisted thumb up and down)
He opened the door (rotate wrist into flat palm)
He went inside (tuck thumb into palm)
And he closed the door after himself (close fist)
Well the very next day Mr. Waggle (shake left fist) decided he wanted to visit Mr. Wiggle (shake right fist)
So he opened the door (rotate closed fist into flat palm)
He went outside (untuck thumb from palm)
And he closed the door after himself (close fist but leave thumb out)
And then he went up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill
until he reached Mr. Wiggle’s door. (move fisted thumb up and down)
He knocked on the door. (pretend to knock on other fist)
There was no answer, so he said, “Ohhhh Mr. Wiiiiiggle!
And he closed the door (close fist)
Well the very next day Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle decided to visit each other at the same time
So at the same time they
Opened the door (rotate closed fist into flat palm)
Went outside (untuck thumb from palm)
And closed the doors after them (close fist but leave thumb out)
And then they both went up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill until they met in the middle and they were so excited that they
rolled down the hill
and then ran back up and then
rolled down the hill
and then ran back up.
And then they were tired so they shared all the stories they could think to tell each other.
And when they were tired of that, they waved goodbye
And went up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill, up the hill and down the hill until they got back to their very own homes
Where they opened the door (rotate wrist into flat palm)
Went inside (tuck thumb into palm)
And closed the door after them (close fist)
And wouldn’t you know it, the next time that Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle wanted to visit each other… do you know what they did?
They used the telephone.

Scarf Song: Spaghetti Legs by Jim Gill
On top of spaghetti all covered with cheese
I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed
It rolled off the table, it rolled on the floor
And then my poor meatball rolled out of the door
It rolled in the garden and under a bush
And then my poor meatball was nothing but mush.
So if you eat spaghetti all covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball and don’t ever sneeze.
