Created in 2002, the Black History Month Brunch is one of Genesee County’s premier events. It provides an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the contributions of African Americans to world history. The brunch also inspires residents to reach their full potential and to make a difference in our community, state and nation. A portion of the proceeds from this ticketed event helps support the GDL’s Summer Reading Challenge that reaches over 10,000 children in Genesee County.

The 2018 Brunch is on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Genesys Banquet and Conference Center and will feature entertainment by Linkin' Bridge, runners up on NBC's hit show, America's Got Talent. Check out Linkin' Bridge on YouTube. Tickets are on sale at the Headquarters Library during open hours or online using PayPal.

Thank you to the GDL Foundation and Hamilton Community Health Network, the Early Literacy Sponsors of this event. Thanks also to Children's Book Contributor, University of Michigan-Flint. Their sponsorship and donations will provide 300 books to GDL's youngest patrons who participate in this year's Summer Reading Challenge.
