Howard Tanner, Marine Biologist and former chief of the Michigan Department of Conservation Fish Division, is often referred to as the Father of the Great Lakes salmon fishery. He introduced salmon to the Great Lakes in 1960. Tanner is the author of Something Spectacular: My Great Lakes Salmon Story.
